The Universitat and the Valencian Government present an innovative technological project for the education of kids with autism

The Univesitat and the Valencian Government and the University Research Institute on Robotics and Information and Communication Technologies (IRTIC) of the Universitat de València presented last Thursday the project SMART-ASD, an initiative financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, destined to improve the education and communication of students with autism and/or learning difficulties, with the help of innovative technologies.

Directed by the IRTIC, in the Science Park of the Universitat, the main objective of the project is the development and experimental evaluation of software and protocol to support professionals and relatives involved in the education of children with learning difficulties, who will learn to decide the most adequate technologic solutions in each case.

The project, which began in September 2015 and in will be in force for two years, counts with a grant of more or less 250,000 euros from the European Union.

A total of eleven Spanish, Turkish and British researchers participate in SMART-ASD.
