The projections, which will take place on the dates indicated above at the assembly hall of the Palau Cerveró, will be played in original version with Spanish subtitles. Each session will count with a previous presentation and a subsequent discussion headed by a representative from the Aula de Cinema. The cycle will offer a selection of three movies on three incredible women who fought against the current in order to make a name for themselves in a men’s world.

On the first session, Thursday 6 November, ‘Amelia’ will be projected. A movie which takes a deep look into the life of the legendary North-American pilot Amelia Erhart, who disappeared while overflying the Pacific Ocean trying to complete a round-the-world-tour.

On the Thursday 13 November session the French movie ‘Les Palmes de monsieur Schutz’ will be screened. The story is inspired on the lives of Pierre and Marie Curie and explains their projects at the ESPCI (The City of Paris Industrial Phusics and Chemistry Higher Educational Institution), during which they discovered polonium and radium. Everything is supervised by the explosive Mr. Schultz (Philippe Noiret), the school’s director who dreams with a huge discovery by his researchers in order to finally achieve academic honors.

The last session will take place on Thursday with the projection of the movie ‘Vision-Aus dem Leben der Hildegard von Bingen’ which explains Helidegard von Bingen’s story (Barbara Sukowa), a German nun who, since birth, had supernatural visions in which God asked her to transmit His messages. Her fame crossed the convent’s walls. As it has been collected, she was supposed to be a very advanced woman for her time because of her knowledge on natural medicine and for her music compositions; overall, a character that marked a turning point in many aspects of life in the medieval ages.
