The event aims to deal with issues related to the social economy. Researchers of the Universitat de València have considered whether the social firms can help the local governments to enforce their social and occupational policies. And they agree that the cooperatives and other firms contemplated in the Social Economy Law seem the most appropriate to provide local services, as well as to promote the occupation in the territory. They are an intermediate channel between the market and the direct provision of public services, but specially, with them, the money and the effort of the municipality revert to it, generating this way more occupation and wealth.
