The University of Valencia, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation along with the area of Sports of the Valencian Provincial Council shows with the exhibition “Deporte tradicional valenciano y Territorio” the main types of local sports of the Valencian territory from the contributions of thirty researchers of the University and other specialists in popular dissemination. In this pioneering exhibition about the importance of Valencian traditional sport it is specifically dealt with pelota valenciana (galotxa, raspall, llargues,...), from the historical, cultural, architectural, sporting and educational perspective, etc. Similarly, other local sports as part of the Valencian Cultural heritage (vela llatina, corregudes joies, tir i arrossegament), the traditional games in different Valencian spaces, particularly of the Valencian inland, as well as the amateur athletics of the popular race tracks, the vuelta a pie (walk) or the athletics clubs.
