Film series: Cinema in the borders In the Name of the Father
The Àmbit Association in collaboration with the Department of Social Work and Social Services, together with the Faculty of Social Sciences, invite us to engage in dialog on a film suggested and presented by people who have suffered extreme experiences due to the prison and isolation that their mental illness represents.
We think that this meeting can serve to university students to know others outside the professional space, and to recognise people diagnosed with mental illnesses. To find a place of symbolic recognition, the Universitat de València, and an audience to which, in principle, they would not have access as experts.
Cinema in the borders of two worlds, in principle alien and distant, but close in terms of emotions arising from the films proposed by each of the participants in the experience.
From the Faculty of Social Sciences, we present the film series and we will see “In the Name of the Father”. Later, there will be a small debate.
