Título: Understanding core-collapse supernova physics through simulations
Lugar: Seminario del DAA. Edificio Investigación Jeronimo Muñoz, planta cuarta, en Burjassot.
Día: jueves, 4 de setiembre de 2025. Hora: 10:00.
Resumen:
Core-collapse supernovae mark the explosive deaths of massive stars and are key sites of element production, compact object formation, and multimessenger signals. In this talk, I will present the latest results from hydrodynamical simulations of core-collapse supernovae across a wide range of progenitor masses, rotation rates, and magnetic field strengths. I will discuss how rotation, magnetic fields and the equation of state impact the explosion dynamics and remnant properties. I will also discuss the gravitational-wave predictions for these models, and how a detection may enable us to extract information about the explosion engine and remnant properties.
