Título: Stellar masses and radii characterisation using ML/AI models

Lugar: Seminario del DAA. Edificio Investigación Jeroni Muñoz, planta cuarta, en Burjassot.

Día: lunes, 29 de junio de 2026. Hora: 12:00.

Resumen:

What are exoplanets made of? How do they form? Is Earth unique in the galaxy? These are some of the questions ESA's Ariel mission hopes to address when it launches in 2031, by spectroscopic analysis of the atmospheres of 1,000 extrasolar planets. However, our characterisation of these worlds will only ever be as good as our characterisation of their host stars. In support of that objective, I will present my Master's project work improving a data-driven approach to mimic gold-standard observational methods for estimation of stellar mass and radius with probabilistic machine learning.
