CaFeCiCo 11/06/26: Estimation of foliar nitrogen content based on leaf optical properties
This study investigates the relationship between foliar nitrogen content and the optical properties of leaves, analysing how variations in this essential element alter the spectral signature of vegetation. Based on two complementary experiments and the use of spectral techniques, the ability of different regions of the electromagnetic spectrum to estimate foliar nitrogen non-destructively is evaluated. The ultimate aim is to identify the wavelengths most sensitive to the biochemical and physiological changes associated with nitrogen, thereby contributing to the development of more accurate and efficient monitoring methods.
