The Doctoral Programme "Contemporary Philosophical Thought" is in force since the 2007-2011 academic year and was given a Mention of Excellence in November 2011, in the same way as the Doctoral Programme from which it comes had a Quality Mention given by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports from May 2003 until its phase out.

It is relevant in the described experience the verification of the teaching staff exchange and mobility ties that the Doctoral Programme currently in force, and the ordinary work of the departments involved, has been carrying out in the last years: both through its research seminars devoted in the first place to promote stays and the meeting of teaching staff and doctorate candiates: being through other kinds of invitations (course openings; organisation repeated of a "Professor Seminar" ad hoc; occasional participation in usual courses, etc...).

From the doctoral programmes that serve as background and the Master's Degree in Contemporary Philosophical Thought, the current Doctoral Programme has enjoyed a revelant international network at its service.
