THE UNIVERSITAT DE VALÈNCIA DEVELOPS TRAINING PROGRAMS AND TOOLS IN SUSTAINABILITY, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND DIGITALIZATION FOR THE AGRICULTURAL AND FORESTRY SECTOR

The Erasmus+ project “SUSTAGRI 4.0: Digital Marketing to promote sustainability in the Agri- food sector” is an action of knowledge alliances for the Vocational Training education sector, focused on the agricultural, agro-food , forestry, landscape and livestock branches.

In this project, the training needs of the primary sector have been addressed in terms of sustainability, digitalization and entrepreneurship. In this way, we respond to the initiatives of co -creation of a free training e-progrem to cover the needs of innovation, mainly, at the points of production and sale of the value chain, with the aim of increasing sustainability in the sector and reducing the digital gap. This program is intended for both active professionals and students and trainers of intermediate and higher degrees in vocational training. It has a direct impact on the improvement of skills professionalizing, both in terms of intensification ( upskilling ) and recycling ( reskilling ), in line with the paradigm of Life-long Learning ( Life-long). learning), in which the University stands out as a facilitating agent of learning experiences.

SUSTAGRI is participated by the University of Valencia , through the Teaching Innovation Group in Chemical Engineering and the Environment IDIQMA, of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Valencia , and is coordinated by Professor José Badia .

The University of Valencia has participated in the following actions:

+ Coordination of the training needs analysis study, openly available .

+ Conducting Focus Groups with students and teachers of intermediate and higher level vocational training in Agriculture and Landscape Management, Agricultural Production, Natural Environment Management, and Forest Management.

+ Seminar Organization​ International “Knowledge Exchange for in Digital Marketing to Promote Sustainability in the Agri-Food Sector”.

+ Contribution to the teaching model and preparation of training modules in sustainability of the free access online course .

Grass digital commerce testing and learning platform.

+ Dissemination events, such as organization of a Multiplier Event and participation in specialized conferences such as INTED .

 

The most relevant results at the consortium level are the online training course with special focus on digitalization, entrepreneurship and sustainability skills, and the online commerce platform, to be able to develop practices for creating digital businesses for the promotion of proximity market. Actions like this project reinforce the spirit of the University of Valencia as a driver of the sustainable transition of our society, and highlight the role of knowledge transfer to other sectors of education. Likewise, the Valencian ecosystem continues to be nourished with opportunities for training, reflection and collaboration in the field of sustainability, in line with the spirit of the distinction of the City of Valencia as European Green Capital 2024, awarded by the European Commission.

SUSTAGRI is funded by the European Commission under the reference 2021-2-IE01-KA220-VET- 000049494, within the framework of the Strategic Partnerships Program for Teaching Innovation in the Vocational Training Sector.

The consortium is led by an Irish entrepreneurship training leader entity -F6S-, a Greek agricultural development institute - iAgroCert -, two Italian training entities specialized in digitalization and online commerce - MVNGO and Quality Culture-, and the University of Valencia, as a specialist in sustainability.
