The ETSE-UV holds the Ada Lovelace Day

The day of Ada Lovelace Day at the ETSE-UV was held on 10 October with the participation of students, teaching, management and service staff. In addition, women engineers were invited to a talk discussion.

During the morning, we have enjoyed a playful activity that consisted in the creation of student and personal panel of photographs from the ETSE-UV.

On the evening, women engineers from Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering and from Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering have presented their professional careers and have answered the questions formulated in the talk discussion.

Silvia Quesada, consultant in Indra, has shown her experience in applications for management in large companies. Moreover, she is focused on the need for a continuous updating of knowledge. Inés Picazo, head of environment in Saggas, has pointed out the importance of the academic formation and the values of the engineering profession. According to Mayte Bacete, director of MaxLinear Hispania, the attitude and the desire to learn are the most valuated aspects when engineers are being hired. All of them have highlight that they have not found great barriers to exercise their profession.

We share our activity with other centres and institutions that hold the Ada Lovelace Day on the web of the international event:
