From 4-7 April 2022, Prof. Pascale Le Blanc is visiting IDOCAL to meet with several staff members and discuss several aspects related to the Prometeo research project entitled “Robotization’s influence on job characteristics and work outcomes”.

Pascale is a full professor of workplace innovation and sustainable employability at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. Two focal questions that motivate the research of Pascale Le Blanc are the following: Why is it that some technological innovations in the workplace are embraced almost immediately by end-users, whereas others meet with resistance or even elicit sabotaging behaviours? And how can we promote the first and prevent the latter?

To gain more detailed insight into employee attitudinal and behavioural responses to the introduction of new, digital technologies in the workplace, she studies the effects of technologization on work (re)design, i.e. the way people perform their job-related tasks. In addition, she tries to identify optimal implementation strategies for new technologies. This way, she hopes to contribute to the human-centred (re)design of high-tech workplaces that enhance the thriving of organizations as well as their employees.
