The University of Valencia, through the Vice-Rectorate for Sustainability, Cooperation and Healthy Living, calls for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the UN in the 2030 Agenda to be also mainstreamed into teaching.

Currently, however, the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs are mentioned, at best, anecdotally in subjects related to organizational behavior and the selection and management of HR, despite the fact that their field of study and the content taught to students in these subjects lend themselves to addressing and delving into this topic. In this sense, corporate social responsibility and commitment to sustainability are also presented as differentiating characteristics among companies and organizations in which students can find a job when they finish their studies, which is why it is convenient that,
today, they are able to recognize and value those companies that make an effort to help achieve the SDGs.

Indeed, although the 17 SDGs have been established to be fulfilled by the nations that are part of the UN, the 2030 Agenda openly invites companies, recognizing that their innovations and investments are essential to achieve the SDGs. In the words of former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon,. Companies are a vital partner in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Companies can contribute through their core activities, and we call on companies around the world to evaluate their impact, set ambitious goals and transparently communicate the results (GRI, 2015, p.4).

Therefore, the general objective of this teaching innovation project is for
students to internalize the importance of carrying out a critical analysis of the labor market based on the contribution that companies make to achieving the SDGs proposed by the UN in the 2030 Agenda.
