Co-organizes the Interdisciplinary Graduate Group for Studies on the Holocaust, Genocide and Mass Violence. Interested in the sociopolitical consequences of narratives of memory and the delicate relationship between processes of collective memory, reconciliation initiatives and demands for justice in post-conflict or post-authoritarian societies. To what extent are the people of the current generation united by a violent past and the memory of this past? What forms of subjectivity emerge through different memories of atrocities and what forms of collective action facilitate or hinder these memories?
