Eva-Maria Klinkisch is a sociologist and educational researcher. She holds a PhD in Sociology.  Her research interests are in the field of critical social theory, education theories and sociology of education. In her dissertation she elaborates on education in Critical Theory of Theodor W. Adorno and Axel Honneth. Currently she is concerned with education in postcolonial spaces, global social inequalities, and transformative learning, as well as building global awareness in academia and civic society. She worked for a development aid NGO for several years and gained in-depth experiences in intercultural and interreligious issues in Germany, Tanzania and Ethiopia. Since 2020 she conducts teaching and research as a professor for general pedagogy and general didactics at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg.
