Domingo Hernández Sánchez is Professor of Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Salamanca. He has directed the Master in Advanced Studies in Philosophy and the Doctorate in Philosophy Program of his Faculty, having also held the position of Vice Dean of Students and International Relations.

Among other publications, he is the author of the monographs The aesthetic irony: romantic aesthetics and modern art and The comedy of the sublime. He has translated Hegel's Philosophy of Art or Aesthetics, and edited compilation volumes such as Aesthetics of Contemporary Art, Art, Body, Technology or Cinema and Hospitality. His are also the critical editions of José Ortega y Gasset's classics, such as The Theme of Our Time, The Revolt of the Masses, Around Galileo or the Hegel archive material. Work Notes. He is Head Researcher of the Recognized Research Group of Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts of the University of Salamanca (GEsTA) and directs the Metamorphosis Collections and Materials of Art and Aesthetics in Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca.
