Researchers from the IDM of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and the Center for Biomedical Research in Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine Network (CIBER-BBN) have demonstrated, for the first time, the potential of using "translator" nanoparticles to facilitate the communication between different types of cells or microorganisms. This study could have applications in multiple fields, from the medical –for the prevention and treatment of cancer; agriculture – for the development of new protection strategies against pests; or the environment. Their results have been published in the journal Nano Letters.
