Last June 5, the IDM hosted the visit of Professor Bernard L. Feringa, Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2016 for the design and synthesis of molecular machines. The event was held in the Assembly Hall of the 5F Building (ETSII) of the UPV where the laureate gave a talk entitled "The Art of Building Small, molecular switches and motors". Before it, he was welcomed by the Rector of the Universitat Politècnica de València, José E. Capilla; the director of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Industrial, Ángel Ortiz Bas; and the vice-director of the IDM, Ramón Martínez Máñez.
