Last Friday May 12th some members of the group "Nanomateriales y Sensores" had a face-to-face meeting for a project funded by the Agencia Valenciana de la Innovacion (AVI) at the facilities of IDAI NATURE.
The project under the name " Desarrollo de innovadores bioplaguicidas con puertas moleculares para el control de enfermedades causadas por hongos fitopatógenos" or BIOFUNGATE proposes the use of mesoporous silica microparticles loaded with different essential oils and with molecular gates based on sugars as a way to combat phytopathogenic diseases. In addition to the IDM and the company IDAI NATURE, the company Laurentia Technologies and the Instituto Agroforestal Mediterráneo (IAM) of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) are collaborating in this project.
