The need to control at all times the quality of the water that flows through the drinking water supply systems makes it necessary to develop new systems that allow monitoring the physicochemical characteristics of the water from its production to its delivery in the most precise way possible, with the aim of carrying out an efficient and quality management of the natural resources during the whole process. To this end, it is necessary to have a system capable of continuously measuring the greatest possible number of water quality parameters in order to ensure the delivery of water in sufficient quantity and quality for all users.
Therefore, the main objective of the proposed project is the continuous detection of different water quality parameters by means of fiber optics cables installed inside the troughs, which allow real-time monitoring of the state of the water in the drinking water supply network.
