This course is based on the ability model of emotional intelligence (Mayer et al., 2016) and aims to develop social and emotional abilities and skills to reduce work-related stress and enhance psychological well-being. The first session is dedicated to the “natural sequence” of social and emotional learning: perceiving, understanding and managing emotions. The second session focuses on real world application of social emotional learning and its relationship with assertiveness, conflict resolution and empathy. Instructional strategies include experiential dynamics, relaxation/meditation, role-playing, individual introspective, group debates, etc. |
