Lezuza holds an important international congress on archaeology

The Lezuza municipality in Albacete holds in April, the days 22, 23 and 24, the international archaeology congress “Cultura Material Romana en la Hispania Republicana. Contextos privilegiados y estado de la cuestión” (“Roman Material Culture in the Republican Hispania. Privileged Contexts and Status of the Issue”). The event will take place in the Agripina Socio-Cultural Centre, central office of  the museum collection of the archaeological site of Libisosa and will be directed by Héctor Uroz of the University of Alicante and the Libisosa project, together with Albert Ribera, head of the Archaeology Service of the City Hall of Valencia.

The congress has a wide programme composed by a total of 23 speeches and 25 posters within three days that will be closed on Sunday 24 April with a guided visit to the Libisosa site and its republican Roman material remains. In particular, the inauguration of the event is scheduled for the 22 April, session that will have the speeches of scientist from Italy, Spain and Portugal, with interesting conferences on the historical and cultural context of the Roman Hispania; and for the Saturday 23 April, scientists from France, Italy and Spain will show the most characteristic utensils of every day's life as well as the use of the coin and even the Roman arms in the republican Hispania.

The congress has institutional support, as organisers and sponsors, of the city halls of Lezuza and Valencia, the  Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, the Provincial Council of Albacete, the Institute of Studies of Albacete, the University of Alicante and Globalcaja.

The registration includes a certificate of attendance and service of transportation from the hotels to the area. Also, it has 20 teaching hours recognised by the ICE of the University of Alicante.
