The Master's Degree in History of the Formation of the Western World of the Western World of the Faculty of Geography and History has been launched for the first time in the academic year 2014-2015, but it has some previous experience. On the one hand, the experience provided by the Master’s Degree in Cultural Heritage. Identification, Analysis, Management, which is still in force in the institution after having developed a large number of successive courses. On the other hand, the experience of the interuniversity Master’s degree of Medieval Studies of the Crown of Aragon, of 90 credits, promoted by the departments of Medieval History of the universities of Valencia and Zaragoza, which was in force between the academic years 2010-2011 and 2011-2012.

The  necessity to present a UV specific postgraduate offer for those graduated students of the Degrees of Humanities, and especially, those Degrees taught at the Faculty of Geography and History, fostered the elaboration of a curriculum entirely related to History that covered from the Ancient Age until the Modern Age and including Sciences and Historiographical Techniques. This offer would allow students to expand their training at a superior level, leading the way to accede the UV specific doctoral studies of the Faculty of Geography and History.
