The general competences presented here –which have been adapted to the specialisation nature of this qualification-, are the ones established by the Royal Decree 1393/2007. The distribution of specific competences in five areas: 1. Diagnosis and assessment; 2. Intervention; 3. Services and programmes; 4. Communication and 5. Research, are the ones collected by the Congress of Deans of Psychology (2006, 2007). The specific competences of each area, with clarifications in some cases, are also the ones presented by the Conference of Deans.

General Competences:

Competence Number 1: To know how to apply the acquired knowledge and their ability for solving problems in new or unfamiliar problems within broader contexts (or multidisciplinary) related to the area of study of psychosocial intervention.

Competence Number 2: To be able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of formulating judgments based on information that being incomplete or limited includes reflections about social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments in the field of psychosocial intervention.

Competence Number 3: To know how to communicate in the context of psychological intervention in social areas, the conclusions (and the knowledge and last reasons that support it) to specialised and non-specialised public clearly and unambiguously.

Competence Number 4: To have learning skills that allow you to continue studying in a way that should be in great part self-directed and autonomous in the area of study of psychology of social and community intervention.
