The doctoral studies in Social Sciences of the University of Valencia aim the advanced training of researchers capable of generating new social knowledge that could place society in conditions of dealing with social uncertainties with creativity and scientific knowledge. The emerging social difficulties tackled in this programme, whether in the field of employment, human resources and labor risk prevention, in the field of social welfare, migration and life cycles or in topics of sustainability and cultural changes require specialised and capable staff for the development of researches, both of basic and applied nature.

In a social context of constant and rapid change are required people with the necessary skills for generating new knowledge related to the organisation and the functioning of society, who participate in job networks for creating discussion and the creation of a better understanding of social life.
