Calender for implementation and phasing out
The updated curriculum for the undergraduate degree in Medicine will take effect in the 2010-2011 academic year, and will gradually be introduced except for the 2011-2012 academic year in which the 2nd and 3rd years will be introduced so that students who have taken the 1st and 2nd years of the former degree (licenciado/a) will adapt to the 3rd year of the updated undergraduate degree. According to Article 11.3 of the Royal Decree 1497/1987, of 27 November, the curriculum leading to the former licenciado/a degree in Medicine at the University of Valencia will be phased out, as published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) of 21 October 1998. The former degree programme will gradually be phased out starting in 2010-2011. Once a subject has been phased out, four exam attempts will be maintained.
