The Social Council, approved his appointment, which completes the new UV leadership team, headed by Rector Juan Luis Gandía.
On Monday, April 27, the Universitat de València completed the process of restructuring its leadership team with the appointment of Daniel González Serisola as the new director of the academic institution. The Social Council approved the proposal put forward by Rector Juan Luis Gandía, as had been planned at the regular meeting held that same afternoon.
González Serisola takes over from Juan Vicente Climent, who served in the position throughout the two terms of Rector M. Vicenta Mestre, following Climent’s resignation on April 14.
The new general manager thus returns to the Universitat de València, where he was previously a member of the leadership team during Esteban Morcillo’s terms, serving as student representative. His professional career includes experience in public and institutional management: a law graduate and specialist in commercial law, he has most recently served as director of the Étnor Foundation, led by Adela Cortina, following his tenure at the Regional Ministry of Finance and Economic Policy, where he served as chief of staff and later as undersecretary under Regional Minister Vicent Soler
In addition, he served as an advisor to the Regional Secretariat for Transparency under Zulima Pérez, the current government commissioner, during her initial engagement with the Consell del Botànic, with which he was associated throughout the two legislative terms spanning 2015–2023.
With this appointment, González Serisola takes over the financial and administrative leadership of the largest public university in the Valencian Community, with a budget exceeding 500 million euros.
