The University of Valencia hosts the international mobility conference organised by SEPIE at the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences. This conference reinforces the European leadership in international mobility of the University of Valencia.
From 23 to 26 September, the University of Valencia (UV) will host three landmark conferences on international mobility organised by the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE). The event will bring together around 300 representatives from higher education institutions and beneficiaries of the Erasmus+ programme at the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences to exchange experiences, present good practices and reflect together on the future of academic mobility in Europe.
A programme with a European vision
The conference will address key issues such as the digitisation of mobility processes, inclusion and the role of European university alliances within the Erasmus+ programme. ESCI Day, which will open the event, will focus on the European Student Card Initiative, which aims to simplify and improve the experience of students on mobility programmes.
On the 24th, 25th and 26th, there will be sessions dedicated to Erasmus+ higher education mobility in its KA131-HED and KA171-HED modalities, with presentations of the results of the 2025 call for proposals, panels on good practices and specialised debates.
Active participation by the University of Valencia
The University of Valencia will play a leading role in these conferences, presenting its best practices in short-term Erasmus mobility programmes (Blended Intensive Programmes), an innovative modality that combines face-to-face and virtual teaching and has fostered new forms of academic cooperation. The UV will also share its experience in the framework of European university alliances, highlighting its participation in the FORTHEM Alliance, which promotes collaboration in research, teaching and knowledge transfer at a continental level.
Consolidated leadership in Europe
For the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation and Multilingualism, the holding of these conferences at the UV is recognition of its track record in the Erasmus+ programme. The University of Valencia is not only ranked number 2 in the Top 10 Spanish universities with the most mobility awards in the Erasmus+ 2025 call for applications, but has also achieved historic figures: in the 2025-2026 academic year, the number of Erasmus students sent to partner universities across Europe has exceeded 2,000 for the first time.
This record consolidates the UV as one of the universities with the greatest international projection and confirms its role as a European leader in receiving Erasmus students, placing Valencia as one of the favourite academic destinations for European students.
Erasmus+ 2025: impact and outlook
The European Union's Erasmus+ 2025 programme plans to fund 4,538 mobility projects, benefiting more than 153,000 students and educational staff in Spain, with a historic investment of €377.5 million. The holding of these conferences at the University of Valencia reinforces the role of higher education institutions as drivers of cooperation, innovation and educational transformation on a European scale.
