
Luis Peinado and Luis Clavel are the champions of the second edition of the tournament
The Blasco Ibáñez Campus of Universitat de València has hosted this morning the second edition of the inclusive padel tennis tournament in the mixed category, in wheelchair, organized by the Divina Pastora Chair of Adapted Sport – Universitat de València. The aim of this initiative has been to contribute to a greater social integration of persons with disability sharing a sport season. In this season, both the Chair and its collaborators in the tournament (the Physical Education and Sports Service, the Adapted Sports Federation of Community of Valencia and LX) has wanted to strengthen and to make visible that it’s possible to compete in the activities where participate the athletes with or without disability. The tournament has been carried out from 9:00 to 13:00 with a competition system of a free for all.
At the end of the morning, Luis Peinado and Luis Clavel have reached the first position of the tournament. The second classified have been Eusebio Martínez and his teammate Héctor Álvarez.
This tournament joined the rest of the projects realized during the course with a high level of participation, as workshops of Campus inclusive-Campus limitless, the workshop of hockey on electric wheelchair or the next workshop and seasons of O-Pre, which will take place on 19 and 20 December. These projects favour the integration through the sport, leisure tool that provides physical and psychological benefits for everyone and exposes the importance of the sports value and equal opportunity.
