The 12th September opens the deadline to register for the Universitat de València’s sports programme. With the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles, a wide range of activities are proposed for Teaching and Research Staff (PDI), Administrative and Service Staff (PAS), students and external users, ranging from karate, surfing or archery. Among more than 80 sports, you’re sure to find yours! New this year, Ultimate Frisbee and Postural Correction have been incorporated.

With the start of the academic year, the classrooms are full of students and the sports facilities of the Universitat de València are once again at full capacity. After the summer holidays it is time to resume the routine and healthy lifestyle habits, and there is no better way to do it than signing up for any of the activities offered by UVesports for this 2023/2024 academic year.

The UVesports activity programme consists of a wide range of sporting opportunities that meet the different needs of university groups (PDI, PAS, students) and are also open to external users who want to keep fit and enjoy the pleasure and benefits of physical exercise.

Aerobics, salsa, self-defence, bodybuilding, paddle surfing... on the UVesports website you can check the complete list of activities offered in each of the campuses of the Universitat de València, as well as schedules and registration fees. For the students of the Nau Gran there are specific activities: training with the elderly, maintenance (dance and movement), Pilates and Taichi-Chikung. Tennis, judo and skating are available for the younger children. The enrolment period for all activities begins on 12th September at 11 a.m. and classes will start on 18th September.

As for sports schools, registration for the 2023/2024 academic year also begins on 12th September at 11 a.m., until the number of places available is filled. There is a wide variety of schools on offer, ranging from martial arts such as Aikido or taekwondo, to other disciplines such as fencing or team sports such as volleyball or rugby. The schools start on Monday 2nd October and, depending on the sport, the approach to training sessions is different. You can check the offer of schools as well as training days, payment methods, groups and campuses where they are held, etc. on the UVesports website.

With the start of the new academic year, the internal team competitions are back as well.

As for access to UV sports facilities, you must be in possession of the Universitat de València card (students and PDI) or the sports card, or the access card, in “active” status.
Access will also be available by purchasing a ticket or a 10-ticket pass, available at the ticket machines located at the entrances to the Blasco Ibáñez and Tarongers facilities, and online, by clicking on the ‘Enter without identification” button.

UV students with active enrolment may use the courts without prior reservation or payment, as long as they are free and have not been reserved.

On the UVesports website you can find all the instructions for booking and access the facilities.
