The fencing team of the Universitat de València got the sixth place in the University Spanish Championship of fencing, which took place between 1 and 3 April at the Technical University of Madrid.

The team coached by Javier García got 40 points in the general classification, a great result taking into account that it only punctuated in two disciplines (foil and epee) so it does not participate in the sabre discipline.

In men’s epee, Jorge Walser did not get to pass the round of 16 and ended in the 27th place. In men’s foil, José Francisco López almost disputed the final phase, and ended in the sixth place. His partner of women’s foil, Ana Tébar, also got to pass the round of 16 but couldn’t with the quarter finals and she got the fifth place. In women’s foil participated Bárbara Monllor, who was in ninth place, and Paz Ferrer (15th).
