Nine teams of the Universitat de València won the Regional University Sports Championship final

After a year without competing, the Regional University Sports Championship (CADU) final has gathered once again all the basketball, rugby and volleyball teams, among others, with a maximum level of preparation and sporting spirit.

The group phase of the Regional University Sports Championship ended the event with the victories of the teams of the Universitat in nine out of eleven finals.

The Universitat de València and the Universitat Politécnica de València hosted the handball, volleyball, paddle and rugby finals, while the Universidad de Alicante and the Universitat Jaume I hosted the football, indoor football, tennis and basketball finals. This event took place on the 20th of May and exceptional sanitary measures were adopted in order for the competitions to be safe.

The female volleyball team won against the Universidad Miguel Hernández, being the first ones to enter the classification. The male team, who played against the Universitat Jaume I were also successful, with a 3-0 win.

The handball teams, both male and female, got two more victories against the Universidad de Alicante and the Universidad Jaume I, respectively. The male and female football teams also won, having played against the Universitat Jaume I and the Universidad de Alicante.

The female rugby team achieved victory after playing against the Universidad de Alicante. Lastly, the female and the male basketball teams got the gold medal after their matches against the Universitat de Alicante.

The tennis team, however, was not as successful in the match against the Universitat Jaume I.  The paddle team was on the verge of victory by winning the mixed team match, but losing the male and female ones.

The championship brings an uncertain year to a close, but one full of effort and sacrifice on the part of the universities and students to carry out the competition in a comprehensive manner.
