The 5th UV Race.

This Sunday 26 March, the 6th UV Race will take place. The university race par excellence is a part of the 13th Divina Pastora Series Insurance of popular races in Valencia due to its high level of participation. In addition, this event helps the university to open its doors to society, beyond the sports competition.

The director of the Physical Education and Sports Service, José Campos, has affirmed that the aim is “to go beyond the competition and to open the doors to the participation of the university community and of society as a whole. ‘The UV Race connects us with society. This is possible thanks to running, which is highly promoted in the Valencian Community. This allows us to integrate the Service, the University and its facilities into society’.

The 6th UV Race is organised by the Physical Education and Sports Service and the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences.

The 6th UV Race, with more than 8000 enrolled people in the 13th Divina Pastora Series Insurance, will start at 9:00 next Sunday 26th. 300 runners of the University community will also take part in, as well as dozens of volunteers which will offer technical and sanitary support to runners along the path which is the second fastest of the Divina Pastora Series (5335 metres). The race will start in Primado Reig and will end in the sports facilities of the Blasco Ibáñez Campus of the Universitat de València.

As in previous editions, a multitudinous popular race is planned, in which students, teaching staff, and administration and services personnel of the Universitat will obtain their particular classification.

For the second year in a row, there will be four specific categories for the participants as members of the university community. The will run with a specific technical t-shirt and they will have their own classifications and trophies: PDI-PAS (male and female) and students (male and female).
