The Universitat de València participated last week, between 10 and 12 February, in the 21 International Zabalki Championship. A tournament whose objective is integrating the pelota in the sports of the university and, this way, favouring an encounter between French and Spanish higher education students. Initially, it was celebrated in France, but since its eighth edition the tournament switches between France and Spain each year.
The Valencian delegation of the Universitat de València went to Biarritz (France) with a pair formed by Sara Pascual and Andrea Micó and another formed by Jorge Castro and Antoni Morellà. The women’s team got a silver medal, while the men’s team got a gold medal, both in frontenis. Ángel Gregori, Adrià Sala and Pablo García also participated in the pelota modality, but could not pass the group phase.
