
Last Tuesday, Universitat de València Women’s volleyball team fought against University of Witternberg. A friendly match against University of Witternberg (Ohio) in the facilities of Cheste education complex.
The American team, who plays in the USA Univerisity League (second american division) was on a tour arond Spain who have already faced with Madrid, Guadalajara and Soria teams and the following stop was Valencia, where they played a first friendly match against the PED women’s team that has played in the second regional division. They have obtained the bronze medal in Interuniversity Spanish Championship.
The event was marked by the great enthusiasm of the Valencian team against the amazinf opportunity. This was reflected by the corwded terraces ful of friends, families and fans that filled the pavilion. The spanish team led by Juanjo Susín countered with motivation the physical differences against the Americans. They played a tight match. Finally, ‘Witternberg Tigers’ imposed by 0-3, a result that does not reflect the tough and tight game, that was formed by sets of more that 20 points. The day ended with a friendly dinner between the teams and the exchange of memories and sport equipment.
With this sporting event, the spanish team closes a season in which they have become autonimic champions obtaining the bronze medal in the Interuniversity Spanish Championship. They are already thinking about the next season in which, undoubtedly, will continue bringing joy to university sports.
