The UV dominates the third day of the CADU and advances to the play-offs

The Universitat de València closed the third day of the Autonomous University Sports Championship (CADU) in the Unievrsity Jaume I on 3 December (except male football that was played on 2 December). The day yielded a very positive outcome for the UV, standing out especially in racket sports and indoor track and field disciplines, in addition to defining the play-off brackets for each team.

In the Tarongers fields, the UV achieved three wins in tennis: the female team won 6-0 and 6-0, after a difficult start, the male team achieved the victory with a 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 and the mixed team won 6-4 and 7-5. Paddle tennis had a global 3-0: male 6-3, 6-2; female 6-2, 6-4; and mixed 2-6, 6-3, 7-5.

In the UJI pavilion, basketball left convincing scores in favour of the UV: male 59-93 and female 28-136. Handball, played at the UV, also ended with clear victories: men's 53-18 and women's 42-20. The North Classroom Building of the UV hosted the volleyball matches, which ended with a double home victory of 3-0. In football, the female's team won 3-5, while the male team lost 2-0. In indoor football, the female team tied 3-3 and the male team lost 8-2

After this third match day, the competition moved on to define the play-off stages, which will begin with the round of 16 on 18 December for the third and fourth-placed teams in each group. The competition will resume on February 3, 2026, with the quarter-finals; the semi-finals will be played on February 19th, and the final championship day will be held on March 4th at the University Jaume I facilities.

Regarding the UV, the female basketball team is directly in the semi-finals, while the male team will play the quarterfinals, waiting to know their opponent. In football, both the male team and the female team are directly in the semi-finals. They are waiting to know their opponents. In indoor football, the female team will play in quarterfinals against the University of Alacant, while the male team will play against the Catholic University of Valencia. The male and female handball teams, as well as mixed paddle tennis and tennis, are directly in the semi-finals. In volleyball, the female team is also in the semi-finals, while the male team will play the quarterfinals. All of this modalities don’t know their opponents yet.


Overall, the Universitat de València completed an excellent third round (or match day) of the CADU, consolidating its dominance in tennis, paddle, basketball, handball, and volleyball, and ensuring a prominent presence in the competition's play-offs.
