This week has ushered in the start of the regional university competition in individual sports and the development of a new session for the CADU league in team sports. The first individual disciplines to compete are fencing and table tennis, scheduled for the 6 and 11 February, respectively.
After the exam period and with the start of the second semester, students resume their participation in this university competition.
Fencing
Thursday 6 February, the Universitat de València (UV) is hosting The Regional Fencing Championship in the Sports Centre of Benimaclet, located on Daniel Balaciart street, Valencia. The session will start at 10:00am with the men’s épée event, followed by the women’s épée at 11:00am. Afterwards, at 12:30am, men and women’s foil event will take place, whilst the sabre event will finish the session at 1:30pm.
Table tennis
In turn, on Tuesday 11 February, the UV table tennis team will compete at home against the rest of autonomous universities. The teams will play each other at the sports facilities of the Universitat de València, located at the Blasco Ibáñez Campus, in classroom building V on Gascó Oliag street.
Rugby
As for team sports, the competition restarts this week with rugby, which will experience a change in its format due to the DANA. The new competition structure will gather the matches in three sessions. The first of them will be held tomorrow in Castellón. Men’s Rugby matches, organized by CEU Cardinal Herrera University, will take place at the Union Sports Centre, meanwhile the women category, coordinated by Jaume I University, will be held at the rugby camp of the university. Both competitions will start at 10:00am.
