The Universitat de València has completed one more week in the Regional University Championship with excellent results in swimming and cross-country running.

Second place in the podium in swimming

Last Wednesday, in the Esperanza Lag de Elche pool, the swimmers of the UV got 26 medals: 8 gold, 14 silver and 4 bronze. The most outstanding disciplines were 100m of butterfly stroke, 200 back stroke, with 2 gold medals. On a day full of doubles, silver also played a leading role. The athletes got four more silver medals in the 200m styles, 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m butterfly stroke. The mixed category also got silver medals in all freestyle and normal styles. Among the gold medals, also stands out 400m in the men´s freestyle, 200m men´s breaststroke, 50m women´s back stroke, 200m men´s butterfly stroke. Silver medals in 400m men´s freestyle and 50m women´s breaststroke, while in bronze 400m women´s freestyle, 50 men´s breaststroke, 50m women´s butterfly stroke and 50m women´s freestyle. 

Brilliant triumph in the cross-country running 

The Universitat de València has been declared the absolute champion in this discipline, held in the circuit set up in the University of Jaume I. In the men´s competition of 8km the UV got de gold medal. While in the women´s competition of 6km, has been exceptional in the double entry by winning one gold medal and one silver. These results have made the Universitat de València the winner of the competition.
