Last Thursday, the University of Valencia placed second in the Autonomic University Sports Championship (CADU) and proclaimed itself as one of the favourites in the field of the Valencian Community.

Ten medals! That is how many the university took home and are now shining at their medal display case. This result was made possible thanks to the great performance from the athletes under the direction of their trainer Javier García Delgado.

The two UV foil categories ruled over the podium of the Benimaclet pavilion, with one gold and two bronzes from the women, as well as one gold and one silver from the men. The sabre category also had some brilliant results in both categories, with one bronze for our girls and a silver and another bronze for our boys. Finally, in the sword duels, our athletes were able to get on the podium in the women’s category with two bronzes.

The results of this individual competition only reinforce the level reached by the fencers from the University, which was host to this event, and their commitment to discipline and university sports.
