Classroom incidents

  1. Problems with the mouse?

1.- Problems with the mouse?

  •     You should check that the mouse is turn on (not all mice have switch ON-OFF in the back).
  •     You should check if it is charged or if it has battery, depending on the model (if is in mode ON has to emit flashes when you moved it).
  •     You should check its configuration.

2.- Why the mouse is not configured the mouse in the computer?

  •     LABTEC Mice (only in the Aulario Sur).
    1.         Look for the receiver (it must be connected to the computer, it should be like this if emits light in some of the LEDs), and press CONNECT. At this moment, the light will flash.
    2.         Then, you should press the button CONNECT, at the back of the mouse.
    3.         Check that now works correctly.
  •     LOGITECH mice (model set in the Aulario Sur).
    1.         Look for the receiver, is like an USB. And check that is turn on. There are three possible positions, ON is in the middle.
    2.         Then, press the button CONNECT at the back of the mouse, you will hear a sound of confirmation.
    3.         After some seconds, you should check if it works correctly.
  •     LOGITECH mice (model set in the Aulario Norte).
    1.         Look for the receiver, is like an USB. And you should check if it is turn on.
    2.         Then, you should press the button CONNECT, at the back of the mouse.
    3.         After some seconds, you should check if it works correctly.

3.- Does the keyboard not work?

In the Aulario Norte:

  • To check if it is turn on.
  • To check the battery (On LCD screens should appear some message. If there is no message and the keyboard is in mode ON, you should change the batteries).
  • To check its configuration (shares the receiver with the mouse).

In the Aulario Sur:

  •     To check the batteries.
  •     To check its configuration (LABTECH receiver).
  •     To restart the computer in order to charge again the device.

4.- Does the computer not work?

  •     To check that is turn on.
  •     If appears a message to press a key to initialize, you should follow its instructions.* (If it   doesn’t respond, you should check that the keyboard is turned on and if all its keys work).

5.- Does the projector not turn on?

  •     You should check if the main switch of the electrical current is turned on.
  •     You should check that if in the projector there is a small amber light waiting to turn it on.
  •     You should press the key ON of the remote and directed towards the projector.
  •     You should ensure that the remote has the batteries charged.

6.- Change the signal of the projector?

  • By default, all projectors are prepared for projecting the signal of the computer. If we want to see the video signal we have to select in the remote of the projector the key VIDEO, and then come back to COMPUTER, so the classroom will remain as the rest.

7.- Does appears NO SIGNAL in the screen of the projector?

  •     To check that the computer is on.
  •     To check that the input signal that we are projecting is the correct one, i.e. the one we want to see: COMPUTER or VIDEO.
  •     To examine that wiring connections are correctly installed, and that none of its elements are broken or disconnected.

8.- When playing a file with sound does can be heard or is too low?

  •     To check that the icon that appears at the right of the toolbar of Windows works properly and with an adequate volume of sound.
  •     To examine that the wiring connections are correctly installed, and that none of its elements are broken or disconnected.
  •     To play any video file ALWAYS is advisable to employ the programme POWERDVD.
  •     Once with the programme open, with the right mouse button go to CONFIGURATION. To mark in the AUDIO tab, and click on ADVANCED. In this last screen you should check that is selected NOISY ENVIRONMENT.

9.- Does cannot be heard the microphone in the classrooms of the second and fourth floor?

  •     To check, first of all that the button MEGAFONÍA is turned on. (Usually is under the blackboard, behind the teacher’s table).
  •     When you turned it on check that has batteries.

10.- When do you connect an USB memory does not recognise it?

  •     You should extract safely the device and connect it in other USB plug (there are two in the front of the computer and two more at the back). When the computer recognised it reproduces a characteristic sound
  •     Always you should extract the memory safely. For this, put the mouse over the icon locate at the right of the Windows toolbar. Click it on and will appear: Safely extraction of the USB Mass Storage Device. You should select it and will appear a pull-down menu that will allow you to extract safely the device.
  •     If you don’t do this action correctly it may have disastrous consequences.
