The Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication will hold the next Employment Forum on days 15 and 16 April

Organised by UVjob, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employment, jointly with the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication of the Universitat de València, next Employment Forum will hold eight meetings at the classrooms between professionals and students and will gather around fifteen companies and organisations at the hall of the centre.

The activities programme will start on Monday, 15 April, with the conference ‘De la universidad a profesor en la EOI’ (9:00), led by Miguel Ángel Seoane, who will speak to students of the Degree in Modern Languages and their Literatures about his experience at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas in Castellón.

The second conference of the day (13:00) will count with the participation of Alba Rodríguez, manager and founder of Agencia Delabla Comunicación S.L., who will reflect on ‘Cómo estudiar Comunicación Audiovisual y no morir en el intento’.

The programme of the Forum will continue in the morning of the next day with the experts on social media from the team of À Punt Mèdia Marta Pascual and Marta Galindo, who will talk about the new professional roles in digital journalism (11:00). Next (12:00), directed at the students of the Degree in Catalan Philology, Ferran Campos, language technician of the Language Normalisation Office of the Valencia City Council, will elaborate on ‘La promoción del valenciano como salida profesional y los servicios lingüísticos municipales’. At the same time, Alma Brell, from Classical Philology, will delve on ‘Un viaje profesional desde la enseñanza hasta los Ludi Saguntini’, and at 13:00, doctors Celeste Moreno and Adam Muri-Rosenthal will explain to students of the English studies degree ‘¡Por qué estudiar Humanidades mola!’.

The students of the degree in Hispanic studies will be able to attend a talk (12:00) by Jennifer García, Head Teacher of Escuela Naranja School, who will present the work as a teacher of Spanish in a school dedicated to idiomatic turism; while Manuel José Zafra, cofounder of TRADCREA Traducción y Creación Discursiva, will reflect on ‘Traductoras y traductores, humanistas del siglo XXI’ (12:00).

On the other hand, the companies Forum will gather, on 16 April, from 13:00 to 15:00, around fifteen entities and organisations at the Faculty hall, where the students will be able to exchange impressions, experiences and information with different professionals of the teaching, research, editing and communications sectors.

In this way, publishing organisations, public administrations, teaching centres and academies, foundations, trade union organisations, research chairs and other Universitat services linked to the promotion of university employability will be present

The Employment Forums of the Universitat de València have as their main objective job placement of its students, which has their UVjob team available throughout the year in case the need to seek guidance, counselling, training in job search techniques and training in professional projection.
