The general aim of criminology studies is to produce professionals who can answer social need for safety and the prevention and control of delinquency. As a result, the degree provides students with the theoretical and practical tools needed to analyse crime from a perspective which is interdisciplinary and integral (law, sociology, psychology, etc). This provides students with the tools to contribute to the fight against crime while also respecting the established legal framework and trusting in the social policies designed to prevent delinquency and minimize its effects.

The Degree in Criminology includes 30 optional credits which students can acquire by choosing freely between the optional subjects available. If they wish to specialize in one of the three available areas, they must take the optional subjects corresponding to one of the following specializations: Applied Criminology, Private Investigation and Public Security. Graduates in Criminology can work as a private detective if they take the corresponding optional subjects. The Degree in Criminology is considered a merit for admission in various types of jobs in the public administration, especially in the administration of justice and the police and armed forces. Students can obtain a double degree in Criminology and Law. If you prefer to study part-time, you can take the same course over 14 semesters, with an average of 30 credits for each academic year and a total of 7 years to graduate.
