ABSTRACT:
In 2017, the accusations against a Hollywood producer, Harvey Weinstein, led to the birth of the #MeToo movement. Since then, this phenomenon has brought to light inappropriate behaviour that had remained hidden for decades.
The book ‘Harassment. #MeToo in Spanish science’, by the scientific publisher NextDoor Publishers, is a journalistic work on sexual harassment and gender-based harassment in universities and public research organisations. In its pages we will find answers to a wide range of questions: What is involved in these behaviours? How are they regulated? What is known about people who harass? What difficulties do those who suffer from these problems face? What is the role of institutions in preventing and curbing this scourge? The book combines interviews and analysis to provide an up-to-date perspective on these issues.
