María Vidal González: “The internship helped me to stay in the job where I am working now”

María Vidal González

María Vidal is a former student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Engineering of ETSE-UV. She currently works in ARTEC, a research group of the Universitat de València that works with new technologies. Prototypes, design, programming, web... María calculates her working time depending on the necessities of the project. She underlined the importance of the internships in the Bachelor’s Degree of Multimedia Engineering. In my case, the internship helped me to stay in the job where I am working now. I can work in what I have studied and learn everyday together with my former professors of the bachelor’s degree and current workmates,” she explains.

Rosa M. Sánchez: “The syllabus of the subjects is very useful and interesting in order to face the daily problems that arise if you work in this field”

Rosa M. Sánchez

Rosa M. Sánchez is a former student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Engineering of ETSE-UV. She is currently studying a doctorate in Information Technologies and Communications linked with graphic computing and other benefits. The Degree in Multimedia Engineering gave us a general vision of the problems that we are going to be facing in computing, multimedia and audio-visual studies,” she said.

“The syllabus of many subjects was useful and interesting in order to face the daily problems that arise if you work in this field. Without a doubt this has been the most positive part of the degree. In addition, different activities and works have been carried.

Pedro Zuñeda Garrido: “One of the most outstanding factors of the Degree in Multimedia Engineering was the availability of tutoring and teaching staff”.

Pedro Zuñeda

Pedro Zuñeda Garrido holds a Degree in Multimedia Engineering by the ETSE-UV. Currently, he works as VFX pipeline developer in Trixter (Munich), one of Germany’s leading VFX studios for feature film and television.

He has participated in cinematographic productions such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther or Captain Marvel designing and developing tools and methodologies used during the visual effects production process.

“Valuing my experience as a student of the Degree in Multimedia Engineering at the ETSE-UV, I would especially highlight the mentoring of the teachers who taught the subjects closest to my interests, mainly related to systems modelling for computer animation and simulation”. Thus, he decided to gear his Degree Final Project towards this direction, and adds “the teaching staff actively supported my request to collaborate in research projects led by themselves outside the curriculum in order to improve my skills”.

Zuñeda highlights the significance of tutoring and the availability of the teaching staff as one of the “most outstanding factors from my time in the ETSE-UV, as it contributed greatly to shaping my professional skills for a better integration into the labour market”.

Roberto Roig Pedro: ‘I know that having studied so many areas from the ground up (web, graphics, systems, audio-visual projects) will allow me to perform in any task I might be asked to do.’

Roberto Roig has a degree in Multimedia Engineering from the School of Engineering of the University of Valencia. He is currently working as a web programmer at Capgemini, where he started his internship as a student.

In his company he works on both frontend and backend and is a consultant on Angular projects. In the future, he would like to work in Cloud Computing ‘something that both the company and my colleagues are making very easy for me thanks to their experience and knowledge’.

Roberto Roig

On his experience as student of the Multimedia Engineering degree at the School of Engineering of the UV, he states that the wide variety of subjects studied in the degree has helped him to reaffirm what he really likes. ‘I know that having studied so many areas from the ground up (web, graphics, systems, audio-visual projects) will allow me to perform in any task I might be asked to do, despite taking a particular direction.’

Roberto is very grateful because his (undergraduate degree) Final Project ‘Live Streaming Platform for broadcasting programming sessions’ has won the fifth call for the best Final Project awarted by the Capgemini-Uv chair.

Finally, he says that one of his main takeaways from the course is ‘without a doubt, having met some wonderful people, both friends and teachers’.
