Dr. Francisco Alonso, Director of INTRAS, received a visit from Clara Celauro, professor at the University of Palermo in the field of civil engineering (Road, Railways and Airport sector).

Professor Celauro's visit, from November 21 to 24, 2023, aims at enhancing the cooperation between both institutions, as well as planning cooperative research projects in the next future (including those that may be covered by calls from the European Commission).

Professor Celauro's research expertise and interests are related to the transport infrastructure design, construction and performance prediction and evaluation, with a focus on highway and railway embankment construction techniques, recycling of waste/secondary materials in road an airport construction and life cycle analysis (LCA) of road pavements and railways for sustainable design.
