The UV and Cuatrecases Gonçalves Pereira law office have signed a collaboration agreement in order to provide external interships with the company to students of the Master’s Degree in Law practice that is taught at the UV. The agreement has been signed this Monday by the Principal of the UV, Esteban Morcillo, and Emilio Martínez Poyatos, representative of the law office.

The maximum teaching load of the External Interships programme is 30 credits ECTS. The External Interships will carry out, generally, on a full-time basis, during the months expected by the Master’s programme.

The place and the length of time of the interships and their modalities will be set in the belonging intership agreements. Among other aspects, it will also be included the students and supervisor’s identification, the educational project, the schedule and any other side considered convenient.

The UV will make a previous selection of students that can access to these interships considering the profilerequested by the Office and the number of offered vacancies. This preliminary list of selected students will be refered for its subsequent validation and its final selection. Vacancies can remain unawarded if the pre-selected students fail the last selection process of the Office.

During the agreement signing ceremony, assistants have shown their satisfaction for this agreement signature that will improve the students training. Thus, the principal of the UV, Esteban Morcillo, highlighted that “the UV has a Law Faculty that can claim the prestige of the professionals that they trained, and Cuatrecases is a highly prestigious company. Joining both organizations are good news for everyone, especially for our students, that will increase their theoretical knowledge with practical cases in this Law Office”.

During the placement, students will be supervised by a UV teacher and a professional working at the Law office where it will be carried out. Also, they will get a report from the Office where they did their placement, with particular mention of the performed activity, its duration and if so, its performance. Students will be allowed to receive economic contribution, in this case, from the Office or student's financial aid package.

The agreement will be in force during a year from the date of its signing and shall be tacitly extended for both parts on a yearly basis.

The company counted with the presence of María José Añón, General Secretary of the UV; María Elena Olmos, Dean of the Law Faculty; Francisco J. Palao, Vice-Dean of the Law Faculty; Rafael Verdera, full professor of Civil Law; and Francisco Vicent; emeritus professor of Mercantil Law.
