The deadline for the registration for the mentoring programme ‘Entreiguals’ of Universitat de València is next 22 February. This programme is addressed to students that want to mentor other students from their centre during the school year 2016-2017. ‘Entreiguals’ starts this year its fifth edition that includes a training programme before the mentoring tasks and also the recognition of 3 ECTS credits for the participation in university activities.
During this school year, 527 mentors have been in charge of introducing their first year partners and ‘incoming’ students to the university dynamic, making them part of the activities that contribute to their comprehensive education. Furthermore, ‘Entreiguals’ pursues to reduce college dropouts, to improve acacdemic performance, to streghten social and political participation in the academic field and to promote autonomy and self-management processes.
This initiative, organised by the SeDi Information and Promotion Service (Sedi), counts on the participation of the faculties of Economics; Law; Chemistry; Physics; Biological Sciences; Pharmacy; Physiotherapy; Physical Activity and Sports Sciences; Psychology; Language Studies, Translation and Communication; Philosophy and Education Sciences; Geography and History; Medicine and Dentistry; Nursing and Podiatry; Mathematical Sciences; Social Sciences and the School of Engineering. Each of these centres has a coordination and tutoring team that cooperate with the mentoring project.
