Brendan, a young 12 year old monk, lives in the remote fortified abbey of Kells, in the Ninth Century Ireland. Along with the rest of brothers helps building a wall to protect the abbey from the assaults of the Vikings. But a new life of adventure turns up when he meets a famous teacher who arrives from foreign lands.
