The Faculty of Economics at the University of Valencia hosted the 20th Editorial Meeting on 20–21 November 2025, bringing together publishers, researchers and students to discuss the major challenges currently reshaping the publishing sector: sustainability, digital transformation and artificial intelligence. This year, Econcult played a prominent role through the contributions of Pau Rausell and Jordi Sanjuán.
Organised by the AEPV (Publishers’ Association of the Valencian Region) with the collaboration of the University, CEDRO, the Valencian Anti-Fraud Agency and the EU-funded AiSECRET project, the programme addressed key issues such as green publishing, rights management, digital innovation and the future of creative labour.
In this context, Pau Rausell took part in the roundtable on publishing, AI and authors’ rights, analysing how emerging technologies reshape the value chain and redefine the ethical and regulatory landscape of publishing. Meanwhile, Jordi Sanjuán contributed to the session on creativity, wellbeing and cultural and creative industries, connecting these discussions with the research carried out within the AiSECRET project.
The 20th meeting highlighted the importance of cooperation between academia and the publishing sector, reinforcing Econcult's role in understanding current cultural transformations. The event closed with networking activities and a shared commitment to strengthening research and innovation in the cultural and editorial fields.
