The Ministry of Culture has launched through Econcult "ESPACIOS. For Culture, Creativity and Innovation", an initiative aimed at strengthening cultural spaces throughout the state with knowledge and innovation tools that enable fairer and more effective decision-making.
The project, led by Pau Rausell and developed by the University of Valencia through Econcult, focuses on generating knowledge about infrastructures, spaces, and facilities dedicated to culture, creativity, and innovation. This line of work will make it possible to create a stable academic space oriented toward implementing policies that guarantee the right to culture, consolidate creative ecosystems, and promote innovation. ESPACIOS will act as a driving force for research, training, and knowledge transfer. On the one hand, it will work to improve and expand the large database of cultural facilities, which will guide future investments in a transparent and equitable way. On the other hand, it will focus on training professionals and students, with practical workshops and awards that will foster open innovation and the connection between technology and culture. It will also play a key role in scientific production, supporting research and open-access publications that will place Spain on the international map of cultural management. In addition, it will become a meeting point for sharing experiences and best practices, with an active website, social media presence, and major events such as the annual gathering in Valencia and an international meeting on cultural infrastructures.
